Na nga de *how are you in Senegalese*

I’m running out of Afrikan languages to greet ya’ll in, considering all those from other parts of Afrika on these challenges, have been fully covered in the first 8 days… So, I think I’ll probably resort to greeting you in the different tribal languages we have in Uganda. Sounds like a plan? Then, we’ll get to count how many different tribes we have back here.

Anyways, diving right into it todays prompt, it got me googling up a few things about content creators and what their JD is and I zeroed down on a definition of them being persons responsible for the contribution of information on media especially, and they target a specific audience.

This gave me the tip I needed to think about the various content creators we have in Uganda and the type of information they communicate and to whom. So, here’s the three things I wish they could stop doing.

Stop directing their attention to themselves.

What I’ve noticed is that most Ugandan self-made ‘content creators’ tend to direct a lot of attention to themselves. By this I mean that their social media pages often screams of attention to themselves that they sometimes forget the information that they ought to be delivering… once they stop doing too much of this, then I’m sure their intended message will be communicated.

Keep up with the current evolution.

Again, some of the content these creators post is sometimes not so necessary at the moment. For example with this lockdown, some people posted things that could only be viable with the normal life style and forgot that the times had changed. So, if only they could pay more keen attention to the change circumstances and adopt that, then we’d all be a happier lot.

Be humble.

Lastly, I feel like most content creators think too highly of themselves. Gosh, like you can’t even talk to or approach them. I mean, if they can be humble enough to train up the next generation of content creators so that there’s not a huge gap between those who have left the scene and those coming up, then life will be so much easier.

These are the three things I wish the content creators could avoid…

Can’t wait to read your thoughts on the same prompt!
