September: Of living and learning.

Hey hey hey!

It’s a new month! Who knew that 31 days would go by so fast?

I recall having huge and thrilling expectations for August, of the new beginnings and trusting the process that I felt the need to assess the past month and re strategize for the next 30 days.

It’s been a short month for me personally and I wonder how the past month treated you. Considering the August excitement was for you as much as it was for me, I hope it was what you hoped God to do for you.  

Anyhow, the course of last 31 days have taught me that whatever God’s will in your life is, it surely will come to pass. I’m not sure if you’ve been in the same shoes as I’ve been in, every time you have boundless anticipations about how your life will play out and you’ve had several conversations about it with God or with whomever you have it with, yet things just don’t play out as you’d planned them to in your head. Your reaction to these situations and what you do moving forward will determine your level of faith, growth and trust in God’s perfect will for your life. (Jeremiah 29:11).

There are a couple of things that I’d personally hoped to have played out in the course of the past 31 days or things I’d hoped to have done which I didn’t do, or worse still, things that I didn’t do to the best of my ability, but my mantra for this month is “We live and We learn”.

It’s so easy to put ourselves on pressure for unfinished tasks or underperformance, but the amazing thing about this life we live is that God ordained each one of us and created us for a purpose. So, whatever that purpose is, and whenever it comes to pass, He’ll definitely be with us through it all. Jeremiah 29:11 says: He alone knows the plans he has for us, and these plans are to prosper us.

I’ve been studying the book of Daniel throughout the course of this month and what thrills me about Daniel and his friends, was the perpetual commitment and trust they had in God to deliver them through the ungodly circumstances and demands of the Kings. God surely showed them favour and elevated them at each stage of their lives. However, they first had to resolve not to defile themselves with the things that weren’t of God. (Daniel 1:8). This trickles down to whether we will have the faith enough to know that each and every new day is a chance to live and learn in whatever situations God has placed us in.

The grind may be long and painful but DON’T GIVE UP! Choose to pick up the lessons you can from every experience and move on. Every day is an opportunity to start afresh and move ahead in the train of life.

So even as September starts and as we make reflections on the month of August, it’s important for us to use every opportunity in this coming month as a stepping stone to learn and let God write down our stories perfectly in the blank pages of our lives that we give to Him.

I honestly do hope that you’ll have an amazing month ahead and that you won’t be too hard on yourself for the unaccomplished tasks. Okay?
